Great Spots to Cheer On the Runners:
Karhunjuomalampi
Runners pass by Karhunjuomalampi twice, making it an excellent spot for cheering. Along the way, you can also visit Finland’s deepest fell gorge (Isokuru), Pyhänkaste Waterfall, and Uhriharju, which are among the most popular attractions in Pyhä National Park.
Kultakero Summit
You can reach Kultakero summit by taking the scenic lift (Pyhä Express), which offers stunning views in all directions. Runners will make their final grueling climb to the summit of Kultakero, so your encouragement will be much needed there. Timetables and tickets can be found here.
Huttuloma
Marathon runners pass Huttuloma twice, and half-marathon runners turn back towards the finish line at Huttuloma. You can reach Huttuloma by driving along Huttujärventie (turning from Luostontie) to the edge of the national park, from where the journey continues on foot, running, or by bike for about a kilometer to the Huttuloma wilderness hut. Please ensure you do not park your car on the path. Also, note that without an off-road vehicle, it’s advisable to drive very slowly on Huttujärventie to avoid the worst potholes. The road is very narrow, so you may need to pull over to let oncoming traffic pass.
